How-tos
Some guides on how to set up/use various tools that I'm using in
this project, based on (sometimes
bitter) experience, in the hopes they may assist others. Permission
is given for the developers of these packages to use these notes to
improve documentation (a brief e-mail to let me know you are doing
this, would be appreciated so I can send updates or move my efforts to
the "official" site).
If you are not adding the information to the
"official" development site, please do not place it on the web
elsewhere - I can only afford to update one location, and out of
date/incomplete information is a bane for searchers. Any
corrections/additions welcome.
um-OLSR patch for ns-2.33
This patch will get the OLSR version written by Francisco J. Ros working with the current version of ns2 (ns-2.33 as of this writing).
Download this patch. Follow
the instructions at http://masimum.inf.um.es/um-olsr/html/
using this patch rather than the ones provided (for ns2 version 2.27
and 2.28).
This patch will also insert the example OLSR tcl file. Note that the
example file does *not* include an actual scenario or movement file.
You will need to generate these yourself (and put the appropriate
filenames into the tcl file) or you will need to write your own
scenario and movement instructions in the tcl file. So if you run the
sample, you will get a warning
*** NOTE: no connection pattern specified.
*** NOTE: no scenario file specified.
