K-12 Outreach

As a computer science teacher you will know that it is a hugely complex subject, encompassing the fields of science, technology and mathematics, while asking students to develop skills in design, creativity, problem solving, collaboration and presentation.

To assist teachers in primary and secondary schools, the School of Computer Science has for many years been offering outreach services through the Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences. Some of you may already be familiar with the Tech School, Young Women in Technology or have had a school visit from some of our staff.

Through the Computer Science for High School (CS4HS) program sponsored by Google, we also provide a library of class kits for teachers to borrow, as well as a resource site filled with fresh ideas on Pinterest. In addition, specially organised workshops both on and off the University campus are being planned.

Furthermore, the CSER Digital Technologies MOOCs (Massively Open Online Courses) are free online courses, designed to support Australian teachers with implementing the Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies.
